Emerging Leaders Seminar Series
的 series is a non-credit course consisting of seven sessions, which range from discussions of leadership topics to teambuilding activities. You’ll also get the opportunity to l赚 from alumnae who have put leadership in action.
LeaderShape® Institute at 篮球投注大学
LeaderShape Institute at 篮球投注大学 is a six-day leadership program designed to improve society by inspiring, developing and supporting students to lead with integrity. 的 program content for the LeaderShape Institute reflects key leadership issues such as vision, 合作伙伴关系, integrity and results.
L.E.A.D. MC
L.E.A.D. 管委会节目(L赚. Empower. Advance. Discover.) believes any student can be a leader. 的 program focuses on developing leadership skills, including 批判性思维, 团队合作, personal development, 和沟通.
基于 Social Change Model 和 NACE Career Readiness Competencies, the program has five focus areas:
- Leadership concepts
- Identity in contemporary society
- Inclusive leadership
- Social problems in perspective
- Activism and community organizing
Students have the opportunity to 赚 either the Silver or 金色的叶子 level. 的 银叶 requires students to attend workshops for each of the five focus areas, complete two activities for each focus area, and write a personal leadership manifesto. 为了获得 金色的叶子, students must meet the 银叶 requirements plus two additional activities for each focus area, build on the leadership manifesto to develop a passion project, and meet with a mentor at least four times.

的 annual LEAD conference brings together student leaders from campuses across the state of North Carolina to a one-day, drive-in conference. Specifically geared toward current and rising student leaders, this conference is sponsored by the North Carolina College Personnel Association (NCCPA). 的 领导会议 provides the opportunity for students to network, l赚 how other leadership teams and programs function, and to get ideas to bring back to campus.
道德碗
的 North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) holds an annual 道德碗 competition to promote awareness and social responsibilities that leaders may face in society. Teams from the independent colleges and universities in North Carolina gather to debate the moral dimensions of issues that impact people, 政府, 机构, 和 environment at the local, 国家, 在全球范围内. Past issues have included ethics and technology business; biotechnology; environment; and government. NCICU’s 道德碗 provides students an academic experience unique to North Carolina. A team is comprised of four to six students from a variety of majors, 学科, and perspectives that collaborate to derive a solution to critical ethical issues. Students develop their oral communication, 批判性思维, and research skills as they l赚 a variety of approaches to moral and ethical decision making, research the cases, and argue for a comprehensive and practical solution to the problem. Meredith is an annual competitor in the NCICU competition.
Leadership Conferences
Each year there are several opportunities to participate in on or off-campus leadership conference. Meredith students are able to participate as conference attendees, 主持人, 志愿者, 和扬声器. On-campus conferences include Meredith’s annual High School Women’s Leadership Conference 和 Girl Scout Leadership Camp. Off-campus conference opportunities include the NC 领导会议 hosted by ACPA and the Intersect Conference hosted by Elon University.
